We’re growing again at SageAge Strategies and excited to introduce you to the most recent additions to our outstanding team. All have joined us in the past quarter and are already making significant contributions to our ever-growing list of senior living and senior care client-partners nationwide.
Laura Weaver, Account Manager
In her position as Account Manager with SageAge, Laura works closely with our client-partners’ leadership teams to help assess their needs, identify areas of opportunity and advance their strategic priorities in such areas as lead generation, prospect conversion and census enhancement. In this key role, Laura provides daily interface between our client-partners and key growth functions at SageAge including digital marketing, creative services, market research, direct marketing and media management.
Laura combines expertise in strategic marketing, advertising and public relations with a successful history of experience in senior living growth strategy. Prior to joining SageAge, she was an Account Manager with Zillner Marketing Communications, now GlynnDevins, where she was responsible for managing a wide variety of projects ranging from direct mail campaigns to digital marketing as well as tracking and reporting on performance for clients.
Laura is a graduate of Kansas State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in marketing and public relations.
FUN FACT: “I love traveling – some highlights of various trips: I drove across seven states in a Fiat, toured the inside of a volcano, and once was an extra on an MTV reality show! My favorite thing about visiting a new place is definitely trying the food.”
Samantha Wallace, Media Planner
Samantha’s position as a Media Planner is crucial to ensuring that our client-partners’ marketing campaigns achieve both optimal results and cost efficiency. Her role requires meeting deadlines and managing quick turnarounds — skills that she honed working as a newspaper and magazine editor.
Samantha’s primary responsibility is the accurate and timely delivery of your senior living community’s message in a variety of formats — from traditional print to outdoor signage, TV and radio commercials, and digital advertising. Working closely with our project managers and various media organizations, she delivers and tracks your message in accordance with your community’s media plan and helps evaluate results. Samantha also handles media research, distribution of public relations materials and preparation of new projects for clients.
Samantha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional and Technical Writing from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh and a Master’s degree in Publishing Studies from the George Washington University in Washington, DC.
FUN FACT: “I worked as a certified optician for several years and still love adding to my collection of unique glasses and sunglasses. I’m also a certified yoga instructor, and in addition to teaching classes at a local studio, I’ve also taught for a variety of athletes, including the Lycoming College swim team.”
Terry Smith, Digital Writer
With senior living marketing now highly dependent on web-based searches and online research, writing nice articles about your community is no longer good enough. Today, search engine optimization and creating maximum visibility for your content online is critical to promoting your brand and growing your community – an area Terry knows extremely well.
Now, the critical path to on-line prominence includes a new art form called “digital writing” that uses a variety of best-practice techniques to optimize your message and enable you to stand out from the crowd. This process includes using meta titles and descriptions, keyword percentage targets, low density paragraphs and breathable copy, bulleting and numbering techniques and other SEO writing strategies that result in higher page rankings and greater visibility for your content.
As a Digital Writer, Terry provides exceptional expertise and experience in this unique, increasingly important skill set. He is responsible for writing blogs, email campaigns, website content, infographics, pay-per-click pages and other digital media for all SageAge clients.
Terry brings to SageAge more than 25 years of experience in the planning, creation and execution of innovative, cross-functional marketing campaigns and brand identities for national and international businesses. This included being founder and president of a full-service marketing agency that served small to medium-sized businesses and serving as Marketing Creative Director for a renowned national greeting card company.
FUN FACT: “My wife and I once had tea with the President of Ethiopia in the former residence of Emperor Haile Selassie.”
Sally Kellam, Account Director
In her critical Account Director role, Sally works directly with our client-partners’ leadership teams to create lead-generation strategies and comprehensive marketing plans designed to meet or exceed their sales and marketing goals.
With exceptional marketing and planning skills and a record of achieving measurable results in the senior living space, Sally provides an ideal growth resource for senior living leaders and their communities.
Prior to joining SageAge, Sally served as Senior Account Manager and later Account Supervisor at GlynnDevins where she had primary responsibility for developing and managing successful marketing solutions for her various client communities. Her background also includes working as a National Account Manager for an in-store sales and marketing consulting organization where she functioned as the primary contact for Coca-Cola, Proctor & Gamble, L’Oréal, Ghirardelli Chocolate, 3M Corporation and other Fortune 500 clients.
Before embarking on her successful marketing career almost 15 years ago, Sally received her Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations and Education from Missouri Western State University.
FUN FACT: “I love being outside enjoying nature…being on the water is my happy place whether that is walking on the beach, boating on the lake with family or just watching the sunset I find peace in the beauty God created. The favorite part of my day is sitting around the dinner table with my amazing husband of 15 years and our two beautiful kids Cole and Kaitlyn.”
Kate Straiton-Carpenter, Executive Assistant to Senior Leadership and Account Manager
Kate serves as the Executive Assistant to the Senior Leadership Team and also functions as an Account Manager for consulting clients. In her role, she spends the majority of her time supporting SageAge’s overall business development initiatives. She also supports special projects such as planning SageAge’s corporate conferences, special events, strategic planning retreats, and holiday activities.
A seasoned professional in the marketing and consulting space, Kate brings over 10 years of experience with an accomplished background in the national targeted marketing campaigns, project management, strategic planning, brand enhancement, event coordination, corporate communications, promotional development and client relations.
After graduating from California Baptist University with a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, Kate worked in Los Angeles as an Account Executive for the top youth/college marketing firm in the country, executing national promotions for clients such as Microsoft, Neutrogena, TOMS Shoes and Bandai. Her professional career continued at NBC Universal where she assisted in the execution of diverse marketing and advertising campaigns. She later moved to Nashville, holding a Corporate Communications and Event Coordination position at Capital Records. Most recently, Kate worked within Penn State University’s marketing department before joining SageAge.
FUN FACT: “I’m a very proud mom of two exuberant, delightful little girls. My goal is to make it through parenthood without a full head of grey hair! Being a musician is my greatest passion. I can play a handful of instruments, but I am mainly a pianist, and play out as often as I can.”
Lynn Elliston, Executive Assistant to the President
Lynn serves as personal Executive Assistant to SageAge Strategies, President, Founder and Executive Consultant, Faith Ott. In this role, Lynn is responsible for scheduling, organizing and coordinating activities relating to the President’s interactions with our client partners nationwide, as well as numerous industry trade associations, related senior living profession entities and other business ventures, i.e., those relating to Faith’s love of dogs.
As a certified Paralegal, Lynn also assists the President with all legal document review. Because of her exceptional writing and proofreading skills, Lynn also supports the SageAge Quality Assurance (QA) function as a proofreader/QA Specialist to assure the quality, accuracy and style consistency of all written materials produced for our client-partners.
Earlier in her career, Lynn worked for several medium-sized law firms before settling at the legal department of a major oil company. Lynn has also worked as a freelance paralegal and legal editor. She received her Graduate Certificate in Paralegal Studies from George Washington University in Washington D.C.
FUN FACT: “I read and crochet obsessively (not at the same time), do some freelance writing, spend a lot of time with my nineteen nieces and nephews, and go to an occasional dog show.”
