All have joined us in the past quarter and are already making significant contributions to our ever-growing list of senior living and senior care client-partners.
Meet our outstanding new team members:
Shirley brings over 25 years of leadership experience that spans the for-profit, non-profit, senior health care and the senior living continuum.
As a senior consultant, she provides valuable expertise to our client-partners in a variety of important areas. These include developing and implementing strategic plans that increase market share and improve census; organizing partnerships with hospitals and community entities to effectively identify programmatic needs and respond by implementing collaborative initiatives: helping to assess internal operations to address opportunities for clinical enhancement or program refinement that will yield positive growth; and developing the skills and talents of senior staff to lead continued organizational growth and response to regulatory and market changes.
Shirley received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from New York University and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Cabrini University. She also received a certificate in Lean Sigma from the Johns Hopkins Center for Innovation in Quality Patient Care.
Fun Fact: “I am a certified yoga instructor who enjoys hiking in national parks across the country.”
In her key role as Account Director, Lori operates directly with our client-partners to develop lead-generation programs designed to meet and exceed their sales and marketing goals. Drawing on her 13 years of experience in senior living, Lori works with senior living leaders in three critical areas: creating compelling client messaging and ad campaigns that resonate with their target audiences; assisting in sales consulting opportunities; and developing strong competitive offerings for clients that deliver strong points of differentiation and advantage in the competitive environment.
Prior to joining SageAge, Lori rose through the management ranks at Zillner Marketing Communications, now GlynnDevins. Earlier in her career, she held various positions in marketing management. A highly creative problem solver, Lori graduated cum laude from Emporia State University in Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Business.
Fun Fact: “I love live music and being on or close to the water. An ocean is preferred, but it could be a lake, pond, fountain or a rain puddle!”
Courtney serves our senior living client-partners by providing exceptional customer service and problem-solving ability. Courtney believes in the importance of active listening and inquiry to understand the unique needs of each of her client-partners and uses that information to develop innovative, cross-functional solutions that achieve results.
Courtney joined SageAge with seven years of experience and accomplishment in the field of sales, marketing and advertising, which also included the latest in digital marketing techniques. Four of those years were spent within the senior living industry with Zillner Marketing Communications, now GlynnDevins, where she was responsible for the successful development and implementation of multi-channel growth strategies for numerous senior living clients.
A graduate of Loyola University of Chicago School of Business where she majored in Marketing, Courtney is an outstanding communicator, writer, organizer and planner.
Fun Fact: “Outside of work, I enjoy cooking for my family. I make a mean chili and appreciate any dish that incorporates my favorite ingredient, which is cheese!”
Bill Tobin, MS, Senior Account Manager
Bill is a former SageAge team member from 20 years ago and returns as a seasoned executive in the senior living profession. He brings exceptional expertise in market development and growth strategy to our client-partners and is highly skilled in several key areas that drive success in the senior living arena. These include planning and strategy development, lead generation, branding, social media, training, direct mail, advertising, public relations, data analysis, campaign management and customer relations.
A graduate of The University of Massachusetts–Boston, Bill received his Master of Science in Gerontology/Management of Aging Services, and was a member of the Sigma Phi Omega national academic honor and professional society in gerontology. He received his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA, with a major in Marketing.
Fun Fact: “I am a Technician Class amateur radio operator with the callsign ‘W4WJT.’ My interest is primarily VHF/UHF communication in the digital modes. I’m also an amateur photo hobbyist with a focus on macro subject matter primarily such as butterflies, dragonflies, small insects and nature landscapes. I have a beautiful wife, Theresa and a 15-year old daughter, Abigail. We live outside Chattanooga and love living in southeast Tennessee.”
Todd Surkovich, Graphic Designer
Todd joined our award-winning Creative Group recently as a Graphic Designer. He brings a unique talent for visualizing form, space, color and light to conceptualize, design and refine eye-appealing visual products that resonate with prospective customers. These include ads, brochures, flyers, direct mail, web content and corporate logos.
Prior to joining SageAge, Todd interned for Accuweather, the national weather service located in State College, PA. To remain at the leading edge of his craft, Todd closely follows the latest design trends as well as companies that have a reputation for visual work that connects strongly with consumers.
He is involved in professional associations for graphic and advertising and has received multiple American Advertising Awards for his design work. A graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Technology, an affiliate of Penn State University, Todd earned his Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design.
Fun Fact: “I am a twin and enjoy snowboarding and mountain biking in my free time. I also like to travel and collect hats, and I must have my coffee in the morning!”
Christopher Cizek, Quality Assurance Specialist
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, Christopher is responsible for proofreading and editing a large variety of creative copy for numerous clients, making sure their guidelines and preferences are adhered to in terms of style, voice, punctuation, and accuracy.
Prior to SageAge, Christopher developed his skills as a Poetry and English Subject Tutor in Lycoming College’s Academic Resource Center, reading and editing student papers, and priding himself on going beyond the job’s expectations by also implementing poetic methodology and freewriting to aid in the creative process. Being also a filmmaker and an artist, Christopher has an eye for typography, color, and layout as well.
Christopher graduated both magna cum laude and with the highest GPA in the English major from Lycoming College, majoring in Poetry and Digital Filmmaking with a minor in English Literature. Christopher also found time to serve as President of Lycoming’s English Society, Crossing the Frame Productions, and the college’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, as well as participate in the Creative Arts Society.
Fun Fact: “Outside the office, I love to write and read poetry, draw comics, and go skateboarding, a passion I’ve been pursuing for over a decade now.”
Madison Zerfoss, Quality Assurance Specialist
Madison is also a member of the Quality Assurance team at SageAge Strategies and is responsible for proofreading and editing all written materials SageAge produces for client-partners, as well as assuring that all client style specifications are adhered to meticulously.
Madison graduated recently from Westminster College with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. While in school, she interned with Big Brothers Big Sisters, served two terms with AmeriCorps and interned with the Westminster College Marketing and Communications Department.
Her liberal arts education, volunteer opportunities and internships have provided her with valuable experience in public relations, communications, writing, editing, social media, graphic design, event planning and marketing.
Fun Fact: “Outside of work, I love to travel. I’m a firm believer that everyone should visit the Grand Canyon, and I would one day like to say that I’ve been to all 50 states. I am also an avid reader and movie-watcher!”
Winnie DeAngelo, Digital Marketing Specialist
As a Digital Marketing Specialist, Winnie is responsible for assisting in the creation, successful implementation and ongoing optimization of digital display and Pay-Per-Click (PPC) and SEO campaign activities for our senior living community clients. She works closely with our entire Digital Marketing Team on the day-to-day management of clients’ campaigns including monthly and quarterly campaign reporting, keyword bid adjustments, campaign set-ups and the optimization of client’s PPC and SEO campaigns.
Prior to joining SageAge, Winnie spent 11 years as an Office Manager for a human resources consulting firm. She also has a background as a paralegal, where she developed her excellent organizational and client relations skills, which she now brings to the SageAge Digital Marketing Team.
Winnie received her Associates in Applied Sciences from Gloucester County Community College in Sewell, NJ.
Fun Fact: “I love reading! I read mostly mysteries, and still prefer a “real” book to a tablet. I buy books by the bag at my local library book sales, so I always have a variety to choose from!”
